Mandala for Storytelling (8.5 x 14 cardstock print)
This is a digital print of an indigenous mandala made to support storytelling and world building. It has five primary purposes:
supporting users in retelling or reweaving their own story; writing a new story about your sense of self
recovering old cultural stories, lost stories or stories of your ancestors
accessing future stories that are favorable for your preferred multiverse
supporting writers in writing stories that are in alignment with their highest purpose
supporting artists and culture makers who are world builders and creating portals to favorable futures
The imagery is based upon the stories of Spider Woman that are present throughout Abya Yala/ Maiza/ Mesoamerica/. Spider Woman in the Hopi culture is the one who builds the portal to the new world. She is the one who shows people the way when the current world is too dangerous and can no longer support life. She shows them the rules of how to move to the next world.
In Tenotichtlan The Great Goddess is closely associated with Spider energy. Spider weaves and creates and in some indigenous traditions she also gives humans the gift of language.
The Mayan glyphs are replicas of the glyphs on the tomb of Pacal.
